About: Cast & Crew

Writer/Director/Producer/Camera: Brittany L. Reid

Brittany L. Reid was born and raised in the state of Georgia.  She grew up with a pen in one hand, and a camera in the other.  When she wasn’t writing stories and scripts, she was acting them out with her toys and her family.  Over time, she garnered experience for on-stage and off-stage roles in theater, television, and motion pictures.  While studying at the University of West Georgia, she took courses in the Television Production and Creative Writing fields.  The institution provided hands-on learning that she put would into practice to create her first independent short film.

After graduating Summa Cum Laude from the university in 2010, Brittany pulled one of her previous writing-assignments and used that as the foundation for Replenish 1134, a film that was funded out of pocket, and produced successfully with determination, drive, and a love for the writing/directing/filming craft.

Sadie Mae Brown: Betty Turner

Betty Turner has always had a love for performing.  Her skills range from singing, to playing the piano, to acting in front of the camera.  Her upbeat aura just resonates on screen.  Because of this, she has starred in a few of Brittany’s earlier works.  Brittany knew that Betty would be perfect for the role of Sadie Mae Brown: a spunky, elderly woman whose energy clashes head on with a ruthless, authoritative officer.  Betty's favorite parts of the film, were the scenes where she was spiffy and full of life. "I like to look fashionable and have fun anytime I go out, so I felt like I had a lot in common with Sadie Mae before she ended up at Brookwood.  That, and she has great love for her family, which I do as well," she says.

Cindy Brown: Sharon Nwaelue

This is Sharon Nwaelue’s first on-screen role, but she is not a stranger to the stage.  Sharon has a strong passion for singing, and participated in many vocal competitions as she was growing up.  She has also been featured in audio advertisement for V-103.  When she auditioned for the role of Cindy-Brown, it was her calm demeanor and her soothing connection with Betty Turner that stood out the most.  When asked what she enjoyed about this film, she indicated that it was interesting to explore her full range of emotions before the camera.

Officer Duvall: Kimberly Worthy

Kimberly Worthy takes on the villainous antagonist in this cinematic short, but behind the scenes she’s full of laughter and fun.  (Her jokes caused some scenes to be shot multiple times during production)!  In the past, Kimberly’s experience with television primarily consisted of behind-the-scenes work.  This movie gave her a wonderful opportunity to see what it was like in front of the camera.  To prepare for the role, she watched a lot torture films to get in the mindset of the tormentor.  Once the filming was over, she was eagerly anticipating the idea of starring in a sequel.
